Huckabee Chooses Jesus As Running Mate

The Reverend Pat Robertson, a supporter of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, said he was “blindsided” by the news of Huckabee’s decision: “I talked to Jesus last night and He didn’t mention anything about it.”

via Arkansas Blog, where Max Brantley sagely noted, “He’s a safe pick, of course, because he supports capital punishment.

(By the way, I can’t decide which is the better headline: “Jesus Vept” or “Jesus Veept”. Any thoughts on the subject?)

Probably so. I’m about done with the biography, listening to what I’ve got and working up an appetite for more. Reading the biography was useful in understanding two things about Zevon I’d never quite gotten before: Zevon himself is the villain in most of his songs, and what appears to be satire in Zevon can be his true opinion: A Modest Proposal in reverse.

And before I got to listen to (or even find a copy of) Pangaea.

While I was playing In A Silent Way in the van with Quincy, I said I thought it was pretty. She asked me why I thought it was pretty. It’s a good question, and not just coming from a four-year-old. I had a hard time answering, possibly because I was conscious of trying to explain it so that a four-year-old could understand.

She has since asked for that “pretty music” again, though not when I’ve had it with us. I’m looking forward to taking it for our next long drive.
